I have a close friend who bought a Welsh-Arab cross pony out of a handicapped riding program for her two little girls, ages 1 and 3, to learn on. The pony, Lovey, was black-and-white, about 12 hands high, and with a classic Welsh stocky build. She became a beloved member of the family until she died seventeen years later, at the ripe old age of twenty-seven, having taught legions of children to ride. |
