""Here To Stay""

My new book is due out at the end of this month and I'm so excited! I never get used to the thrill of knowing that another book is about to be launched. Will readers embrace the characters? Will they like the plot?

For those who don't know, "Here To Stay" deals with Zach Harrigan, the youngest of the Harrigan siblings. He's always been a rebel and a nonconformist, and has a well-deserved reputation as a hellraiser and a party animal. Still, he's taken care to preserve and enhance his national reputation as an outstanding Quarter Horse breeder and trainer.

When he quietly embarks on a long-term project to help other people and give himself a sense of purpose, he has no idea that he's going to run into a woman who starts out retarding him as a cross between St. Peter and the Really Real Bogeyman. He's none too sure about her, either. Mandy has eyes that shoot sparks and he suspects that the first thing she does when she gets out of bed in the morning is sharpen her tongue!

The course of true love never does run smoothly, and these two find more bumps in the road than most. I hope you will enjoy their story as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.

Good luck with the release of your latest book Catherine - I would imagine this is a very busy time for you leading up to the release date.

I've been away from the BB for a while now and was wondering now that your current book is about to be released have you started a new book and if so can you give us any information about it?

Dianne,

Dianne, I am hard at work on the next book. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to try to write faster. (grin) This book is a historical, dealing with the relatives of character's you've met before and hopefully loved. David Paxton is a respected lawman in a remote western town, a man who has the reputation of being a solid citizen who never puts a wrong foot down. When a long-misplaced packet of letters addressed to David from a total stranger is delivered to him, David's well-ordered existence blows apart much like a Glock splattering a mosquito.

I read the first few pages of the teaser while standing in the book aisle at Walmart the other night, and I it was SO hard to put it back on the shelf without finishing! But I already have Sun Kissed and Beautiful Gifts, so I can't really justify buying the re-release.

I read all of the excert in Sun Kissed...the only reason I bought the book and I already had Sun Kissed! I'll most likely put it in my lending library soon.

I loved what I read of Here to Stay and wish I had the whole book in my hands! Can't wait for it to be released.

Well, Michelle, I'm not going to give away any secrets here, but lawmen in frontier western towns aren't exactly known for their retiring, milk-toast personalities.

How are the Harrigans related to the Coulters?

And is "Here to stay" the first book from the Harrigan-series?

The youngest Harrigan Samantha is married to Tucker Coulter. This is the fourth book in the Harrigan series:
"Sun Kissed" Samantha and Tucker
"Morning Light" Clint and Loni
"Star Bright" Parker and Rainie

Hope that helps!

Please, when everyone has finished it, please write and let me know what you think -- pro and con. Reviews on the web are all very well, and definitely have their place in the romance industry. But I have always felt that the true measure of a book's success is what the readers think. I highly value reader input and I always feel both grateful and humbled when someone takes the time to write and let me know what they think about a book...or just writes to say hello. Please keep your posts and e-mails coming. I value every one of them...and every one of you.

I had to run into town when my daughter got home from school and run some errands. Decided to go to the grocery store and just happened to walk down the book aisle. I was surprised to see Here to Stay on the shelf. Trust me, I grabbed a copy. Will read it when I finish the book I just started and let you know how I like it. As always I know it's going to be a really good book.

I got Here To Stay on my kindle nice and early this morning (got up at 4AM so I could read before I had to go to class). I registered here to tell you how much I enjoyed the story. I loved every minute that I spent reading it. It was great seeing characters of the past again. I got a smile every time some of them were mentioned.

I charged in to our local store the minute it open, snatched my copy of "Here To Stay," came home and made a pot of tea, and read it straight through. I love it! She's done it again...created an amazing plot and peopled it with characters that touch every one of us. The troubled relationship between Mandy and her brother Luke is almost as emotionally involving as her relationship with Zach Harrigan. In what I've come to think of as another Anderson trademark, the minor characters are clearly drawn and make their own strong impressions, adding immeasurably to the strength of the book. A fantastic read, and one I totally recommend.

That certainly would have give him a story to tell his wife (or girl friend) at the end of his day, Michelle!

Loved the book, loved it, loved it. One thing I enjoy most about this series is the tight, warm family relationships between the characters. The scene where Zach's brothers come roaring over to chew him out is hilarous and touching at the same time. Can't wait to read David's story next.

I have had the same postman for year catherine he is use to my nutty ways and rushing out to get my books.

I am a third of the way through the book. You have done it again Catherine! What a good read so far! I will be honest i keep secretly lookng out for Jake oh how i miss that man. I am npow looking forward to Quincy's story too. My health nut. Maybe his lady could be less slim? I was kind of hoping Zach's may be a bit mor eplump or curvy but we still got Quincy to go. As Molly showed everyone you sont have to have a slim figure to be attractive. As i am getting older and less well i am unable to exercise as i would have years ago so i am not as trim as i was but i like to think maybe someone culd still find me special even with my bad health. Your books always make me feel good about this. I loved the reference to Carly in the book, i was thinking about her the other day.

Looking forward to my read tonight

Just finished HERE TO STAY. ANOTHER GREAT novel. There is a lot more to be said about the book, but I do not want to ruin it for anyone that has not read it.

Thanks for another great one.

May I suggest that there is a section on the main conference menu that is 'Book Club' and for those that want to talk in detail about HERE TO STAY, start a post for it...using 'spoilers' in the subject line so those that have not finished it will know not to go in it.

That way those that want to talk in detail about the book can and as others finish they can join in.

Oh NO! You can post here that you loved it, but if anyone wants to get into talking about the details, lets start a post in the Book Club section where you can talk details...sounds like a few of you who have finished it would like to.

I read some more last night and hated to put it down to go to bed..I dreamed about a mini snuggling up to me! Can't wait to get back to it.

I have just dowloaded a free trial of the electronic version. Of course I have the synopsis and did the research and interviews. It always amazes me what tale Catherine spins out.....She is the master weaver of tales. I loved working with Mona, one of her real life inspirations.

I have not got to post any at all latley my family has been so busy, teenage sons,10 Mastiff puppies, husband going back to college, working, those sort of things, but I just had to pop in and say that I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read it in one day could not put it down, the family could have torn down my house and I would not have looked up from that book. Zach was well there isn't just one word to say how great he was, and Mandy my goodness to survive something so horrible, I can not even begin to imagine. Luke was a little bit of a brat but in the end I loved him and found myself wanting a book about him. (hint, hint)
Oh my gosh how can I not say something about Rosebud, I want me a mini horse I never dreamed that they were so smart.

Catherine you are the best that is all I can say.... Thank you... and I can not wait for David's story.. or the re-release of Comanche Magic...

Thank you, Shack! I really got involved with the whole Luke/Rosebud dynamic, and it would be fascinating to do a book about him down the road. My publishing schedule is set for the immediate future, but it's certainly something to think about.

Guide horses of all sizes were recently removed from the list of acceptable service animals, which I feel is a shame. Anyone who would like to urge that this ruling be reconsidered will find contact information for the U. S. Department of Justice here on the Bulletin Board. Every letter or e-mail helps.

I loved "Here to Stay." Thank goodness my husband is now retired so he can cook (without me feeling guilty) sometimes. That meant from the time my shipment came in around 2 p.m. until I finished the book at 10:30 the next morning NOTHING, including sleep, interupted me. When I showed my husband my newest Catherine Anderson book was in, he asked "So, what you going to be researching next week?" He knows the cycle with your new books. I devour them, then go back and read them like an actual human, and then end up researching and learning everything I can find about the new subject. I've learned a lot through the years of reading your books. Thanks for another wonderful book. Your characters are so well developed and the stories so well told, I watch eagerly for your new books.

Thank you so much Catherine just knowing you and the other girls here are thinking of me is very comforting. Good things do come out of sadness, its made me realize how lucky i am to have so many friends that care, its not until something happens that we remember. I received a card this week from a close friend the words handwritten were beautiful and brought knees, my family and myself to tears, he lost his wife last year and he has been so strong and has had amazing strength to carry on. And here he is writing to me and giving me comfort and love.

As a professional writer I usually hate cliches, Kathy, but this is one I've found to be very true: Out of adversity comes strength. We find hidden parts of ourselves previously undiscovered, and somehow pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and keep on going. We're here for you.

What is this photobucket then that eveyone talks about?

I agree Kathy i never realised how lucky i was to have my family before. Throuh all my hard times i have been through the last year not one of my friends contacted me or offered support. Lucky my little sis was there. I always do what i can for my friends and let them know i am there. But i never have received anything back from my friends. I obviously choose the wrong ones but they know i am still there for them even though they aren't for me.If someone needed my help i NEVER say no.

My friends happen to ignore my messages when i have needed help or let me down. Even something as silly as picking my daughter up when she goes to same school as theirs when i was in hospital having treatment. Not one of my friends turned up to my wedding party and my in laws never either. Teah still loves horses there is a hold on it because of money but once we are moved and settled there wil be riding lessons for her and maybe one or two for me.

I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't getting the support and backup you need and deserve, Michelle. Ihope you will set aside some funds for a few riding lessons. There is an old saying that the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man (or woman). I believe it's true. Riding gives a sense of freedom that, once experienced, is never forgotten.

It was always my dream as a child i was so in love with horses and to think i have never ridden one sigh. I am going to make sure my daughter gets the chance she has had a ride twice now and wants lessons but it will be another year at least until we are in the position to pay for them.

This may sound like rank heresy, but there comes a time when paying for riding lessons when it becomes less expensive just to buy a horse.

Just want to thank you for another wonderful romance. Just finished Sun Kissed and yesterday picked up Here to Stay. I was wowed by the fact you were going to write about miniature horses as guides. When I read the acknowledgements I realized you had used my friend and neighbor Dolores Arste and Cali, the miniature horse she trained. I attended a banquet during Cali's training which she and Dolores attended. I will never forget that sweet little mare standing quietly behind Dolores during the banquet. Cali was bred by my good friend, Becky Montano. My miniature horse, Nadia, is bred to Cali's sire for a July 2011 foal. Well, romance AND horses. You couldn't have made this fan any happier! This is the first time I have written to you, shame on me, as I have read every one of your books, but this one just made me take care of this - Thank you for your work!

And thank you for that wonderful tribute! "Here To Stay" means a great deal to me, not least because now the U. S. Department of Justice has now amended the ADA to state that mini guide horses must be "reasonably accomodated" as service animals. The new ruling takes place March 15th.

Welcome to the website! I hope I'll see you here often. I run monthly contests for autographed books and other goodies, and we have a great recipe swap section. We've jusart archived the February submissions and are awaiting reader contributions for March. Do you have a favorite, or several, you can share with us?

I don't know if this is the place to post this, but since it involves minis, I felt I'd start here and the put it elsewhere if needed
I found the following video about a little mini, Midnight, and his unique problem
After watching the video, I was filled with renewed faith in human nature and the kindness of strangers!
Take a look and see what you think; then repost if it touched your heart as it did mine!

I've seen this, and I think it is wonderful. What a brave little guy! I hope their use as service animals expands with the new USDJ ruling and that many more people can benefit from these wonderful little horses.
