"What's the weather like where you live?..............."
|
We've been under a Tsunami alert all morning - that's something new for me. There was an earthquake near the Solomon Islands and it was thought that it might have generated a tsunami which could have reached the east coast of Australia. I had planned on heading to the beach this morning but I decided I'd better stay out of the way. My place is at sea level so, even though I'm not right on the waterfront, I guess a really big tsunami could wash in as far as my place. Scary thought!! The alert has just been cancelled so I guess I'll head to the beach this afternoon for a walk. Apart from that - it's a bit overcast here, with some patchy sun. Temps are in the mid 20's which is the first hint of Autumn we've really had. Joan "Smile - it's contagious" |

Well that is really scarey Joan. I don't even know what you're supposed to do during one....but whatever it is be sure to do it. Keep us posted as well. I'm almost embarassed to say this, but it is absolutely gorgeous her in Richmond. Don't be jealous though because we'll only get a couple of days of spring and then it will be hotter than Hades. I heard this report on the 10.00am news... And I thought I was hearing things... I rang my niece not long after and said have u heard she hadn't had the radio on... And I'm like I'm serious I'm not joking... Neither of us could believe it... Her DH is a surfer and I'm like tell Mick not to go out... As the Beach near them is not patrol... Joan must have got an early clearance because it's 1.40pm here and I have had the radio on all day listening for updates and where I am on the coast line they haven't given us the all clear yet... >I heard this report on the 10.00am news... And I thought I was hearing things... Lee, I thought I'd imagined it too. Once I realised it wasn't some kind of hoax I kept Sky News on all morning and they are pretty good about broadcasting breaking news quickly. I only heard it had been lifted while I was typing my post. I've just come back from the beach and it's open again and people are swimming, Joan "Smile - it's contagious" |

The Sun is in my backyard...Bright blue skies, lots of sun with just a slight breeze...won't last though, I see clouds building up out my family room window...Going to take Tori to lunch and relax the rest of the day... Be careful Aussie Girls....I didn't know they had warnings for Tsunamis..At least you know NOT to go to the beach... Julie "WHACK'EM" |

Nothing as dramatic as tsunamis here in Minnesota. I'm afraid we're stuck with blooming daffodils and temperatures that are headed toward freezing. Just your typical upper midwest combination. Glad to hear all is well with our Aussie friends. We've had a very cold winter (so cold, in fact, that before I realized my little dog needed booties, he lifted one leg, then two, then three and --- boom -- over he went. It was pitiful.) Hope your winter will be much milder! Keep smilin', and remember: "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.” (Anthony J. D'Angelo)

What the Heck is going on with the weather system these days?????? We had some very high 80's not too long ago and then it got freakin cold again. On Easter it was so cold...we had to go back to jackets and coats....then this week it started to warm up again...and it is cold and rainy again. Where is Spring. It seems we are teetering back and forth between Summer and Winter here. Not to mention all the crops that are freezing...if you think fruits and Veggies are high now..... Mickey "Forget about it" |
