I love knowing that all of you enjoy my writing so much. This month and through the month of July, I'd like to enjoy a little of yours. Turnabout is fair play! The June/July contest is this: Write me an entry of between 100 and 200 words about which of my heroes is your favorite, and why. Not a writer, you say? Enter anyhow. I'm not looking for the next Nobel Prize For Literature winner, or perfect English, spelling or punctuation. I'm looking for feelings and emotion. I want to know whom you, personally, care about the most, and what about him touched your heart. What made you fall in love with this man? I'll post the winning entry on the website, with the winner's permission. The prize is a box of Godiva chocolates and an autographed copy of the book of your choice, provided I have a copy. Be sure to send me your entry to the following email address before the end of July! I can't wait to hear which of my heroes is your favorite.

The Coulter Brother's are amazing!!

Send it to my e-mail, which is listed in the Welcome Letter on the website. This contest has generated a lot of interest and so many wonderful, moving entries that picking a winner is going to be very difficult!

Picking a winner for this contest wasn't easy, believe me. I received a flood of entries, all heartfelt. Almost every hero I've ever written about was nominated by someone. One reader wrote in and said that her favorite hero was a canine character -- Goliath! After much agonizing over fantastic entries and a lot of soul-searching, I picked a winner. Kathleen Layne's eloquent nomination of Rafe Kendrick will appear elsewhere on this website to be shared by all. You'll also find details of the August contest, which I hope will stir up the same amount of interest. Thanks to all of you who took the time to nominate your favorites. I learned something from every one of you and I'm so grateful for the response. I wish I could have awarded every entry the prize. They all deserved it.
