"skin advice"

Hi there

After i have had the baby i have decided to thorough cleanse and exfoliate my skin face and body. I have super sensitive skin with a bit of acne at the moment and have redness most of the time. Cna anyone recommended a gentle exfoliator for my face and for my body. I really want to get my skin looking good again, but it is so sensitive that exfoliating usually makes it worse. any advice on some great products?

I've had very good luck with an apricot pit scrub that comes in a plastic tube. It's up to you how hard you scrub, but a gentle overall application, a few minites of "sit" time, and a thorough rinse with warm water leaves my skin feeling fresh, smooth, and moist. I love it.

Hi!

Logona or Lavera are brands that have really good products for sensitive skin. My sister uses them and she tends to neurodermitic outbursts when stressed.
You can buy them in special shops, health food shops or in pharmacies over here, but I don't know what products are available in Wales.
I'd rather wait a bit until your skin has calmed down after the cyst is removed before you start 'attacking' it.
But as you wrote you're still going to have cysts other that the giant one you probably won't get your acne under control without cortisone. Maybe your doc can give you some advice?

I haven't tried it, but believe it or not I have heard that pure white sugar is a superb exfoliator...and totally natural.

I have had a little luck occasionally splashing hand sanitizer on problem areas. It kills the bacteria that contributes to acne and eczema. Rubbing alcohol is less convenient but should have to same action.

I like Catherine's idea of sugar to exfoliate. I would mix it with olive oil to apply. Olive oil is a natural antibacterial and can soothe inflammation.
