"What do You Love In A Romance Heroine? Win!"

Okay, ladies, we've covered the hero pretty thoroughly -- good and bad. How about the heroine?

She should be someone we all love, someone we care about, someone we'd like to know, someone we'd like to live next door to. What attracts you to a particular romantic heroine? What makes you root for her, empathize with her, laugh and cry with her? Who are some of your favorite heroines? Pull in other genres if you like, go back centires if you like...which heroines do you remember, and why? What sort of gal would "speak" to you as you read about her?

Remember, I select a winner for every fifty entries, and an autographed book will be coming your way. I got an avalanche of entries when I asked this same question abut the hero. I'm betting this one touches even more nerves.

What have you got to lose? Enter. It doesn't have to be an essay. Just let me know what your opinions and feelings are. Someone is going to win. How about you?

I like a woman who is intelligent and independent. She may be looking for her soulmate but she's getting by on her own. She won't settle for less than that special connection one feels with a soulmate. The feeling where they complete you without taking away your independence. I'm sure that you know the feeling well the way you talk about your husband. Anyway, my romance heroine may or may not be disabled in some way but if she is that doesn't take away from her personal drive and spirit. She can do things on her own and nothing gets her down for long as she has an optimistic attitude and sees the best in people.

I already entered the contest before you asked about what we want in a heroine. Still I'm glad you liked my idea of a perfect heroine.
