"For Lynda VeArd"
| |
This post is for Lynda, who is a true friend to all here at Catherine's site. She's been faithful, not just to Catherine, but to all of us, to listen, to care, to give advice....just a constant for all of us. Lynda has touched the lives of all who have passed through here throughout the years. I feel safe that I can speak for all of us, we are so very sorry for your loss today, Lynda. Catherine posted the news on FB so we would be aware. From time to time, I've checked in to see how things are going, and hadn't seen your posts as frequently, but figured it was bad timing. I had hoped you and Tim were just on another road trip, as you both loved being on the go. Please know I cannot say anything to ease the loss, but hope you find great comfort in the faithful friend you have in Catherine, as well as genuine love from us readers here on the board. She told me many, many times how much your friendship and support has meant to her, and was especially thankful for Tim's expert help in times of need. My prayer is that the initial feeling of loss will transition to you fully feeling his presence with you wherever you go from here. LOVE NEVER DIES, Lynda. Your love is eternal, and nothing can change that. Thankfully, your wonderful children are constant reminders of the example you both set and the values you instilled within them as parents. Tim will live on through them, I'm certain. When you need a friend, I'll be here for you...please know how very sorry I am, and again, I'm sure I speak for all of the longtime readers whose lives you have touched here on this forum. In Deepest Sympathy, Stephanie Vogelsong stephvogelsong@aol.com |

Thank you Stephanie. I did see an email come in from you, but I am sorry to say it got lost in all the ones that came in at the same time before I could get to it. Tim was at peace and went peacefully. He had had a long hard struggle and was ready. He showed us all how to handle it, even the Hospice People who worked with him said he taught everyone how to be strong. The social worker, a 36 yr old gal who is expecting her 1st baby in Sept. said she broke every rule and became close to him and us. she called me the day after Tim passed and asked if they could use his name as the middle name for their son. I had told her I was going to be his adopted grandmother before, so now I have adopted her and her husband too. I am handling it okay, never easy, by Tim's strength has given us all something to hang on to. He will be missed, but knowing he is at peace and not in pain any longer. Our Hospice has a wonderful House and is a wonderful place and he choose to go there for his last few days and they were such wonderful caring people. Not only to Tim but to the family too. We are having a 'Celebration of Life' on Monday at our community club house, he did not want a big church service so we are honoring that. I hope I will be checking in here more more often...it has been so long I could've log in and I am on a new computer that Catherine had to contact WritersSpace to get me logged in. Hi there, Lynda: I'm not at all surprised to read about the Hospice gal that you befriended and vice/versa. That's how special you two are! When you're a lover of people that just comes naturally and what an honor to have the baby named partially after Tim...it really says it all, doesn't it? Lynda, I'll too try to come on more often to check on things...I've been working lately at a private school....the teacher up and left suddenly...I'm also taking college classes and do not have even one day off for the next 30 days!! Don't worry about returning any e-mails, just wanted to say I was there, and hoped that you'd see it eventually. The plan for celebration hits the right tone, and sounds just like Tim. Keep on keeping on, and stay busy touching lives like you do. Hope you are having good weather down there, here it's sunny but cool. I still believe one of these days I'll have a chance to visit with you when I'm down that way....so far, of the times, I've been headed to board a ship---but I won't be doing that for quite sometime. Maybe you can for me! Stephanie Vogelsong stephvogelsong@aol.com |
