"What are you reading February 2010"
| |
I know I am a day early but the other post was getting too long. Last night I picked up Robyn Carr's latest book "Angel's Peak" thinking I would read for one or two hours...what a joke! Who in their right mind can read a book by Robyn Carr and limit your reading time to a few hours! Certainly not me! Anyway, as some of you who have gotten to know me won't be surprised to read I couldn't put the book down and finished it this morning! I know I do go on about this author but she really never ceases to amaze me. I thought at around book 9 the series would start getting a little stale - NO WAY! it just keeps on getting better! How does she do that? Who would have thought that book 9 in a series would replace all other books as the best so far! At least it has in my opinion and I'd be surprised if other people don't hold the same opinion. Dianne, Australia |

I am reading a huge book by an English author, hubby bought it for me from the library sale cost him $1.50 Thats my hubby the last of the big spenders. Its about an english lass, her family are all dead and she is sent to Australia for the killing of her father. It was an accident but of course in those early days they shipped you down under for stealing a piece of fruit so she didnt have much hope of proving she was innocent. I am actually learning some things i didnt know about Australia. Kathy |

I am extremely happy right now. I went to the shops today and discovered on the shelves Sara Donati's "The Endless Forest" the final book of Into The Wilderness series. I received quite a few strange looks when I squealed with delight when I saw it! My daughter walked out of the shop quite embarrassed by my reaction when I saw the book! I am reading Lessons in French by Laura Kinsale. I am enjoying it but I prefer her earlier books I think. As soon as I finish this book I will start TEF. Dianne, Australia |

How exciting that Laura Kinsale has a new book, I had given up. I still remember all the old english you had to learn to get through one of her earlier books. She is so talented adn obviously intelligent. I just read Fire and Ice by Julie Garwood. I love her highland books but have never really gotton in to her contemporary novels. It was OK, but nothing to get excited about. I read a Eloisa ...... something over the weekend that was much better. It was about a Duke and Duchess who actually fixed their flailing marriage. It was a nice change of pace for a romance. Eloisa is a english literature professor and her knowledge of the regency era was amazing. |

I started reading "Lands Beyond the Sea" by Tamara McKinley this morning. I'm only a little way into the book but I think it will be very good if the start is anything to go by. Dianne, Australia |

I am back to the Diana Gabaldon Breath of Snow. Kathy I'm glad to hear that Knees is reading them....I really enjoy them but have to take breaks from them to read something lighter! I read the Michael BBaron book, Crossing the Bridge and it was good, but not that great. If he keeps at it he'll be putting out some great stories. I have a whole list of books that are coming out this week and next that I want! JD Robb - Fantasy In Death Susan Wiggs - Summer Hideaway (still haven't read her Christmas one yet!) Erica Spindler - Bloodvines Nora Roberts - Entracned and there are a few that I want to get on audio that I know Tim will enjoy listening to too. Geeze, so many books, so little time to read!
