I am a big Western historical romance fan...mail-order brides, etc... I have read a few but NONE I would recommend. We get alot of new books here at the library, and I am always looking thur them. However, I have none, that were even ok.

I've heard of Caroline Fyffe but I've never read any of her books. Are they Christian romance novels? I was thinking that I read somewhere that they were. I'm reading Sweet Hannah Rose by Lori Copeland right now. So far its pretty good.

I wouldn't say that Caroline Fyffe's books were your typical Christian romance but they do promote a strong belief system. They are really good reads. I am finding I am enjoying the story line of the second book more as it mainly takes place on a ranch.

Misty, if you like the mail order bride themed book have you read Joan Jonhston's The Barefoot Bride? It is the first of two books but for the life of me I can't remember the title of the second right now. They are both older books but still very good ones.

I have read both of Caroline Fyffe's books I wouldn't have called them Christian books though - to be honest I was surprised when I read here that they were.

I have just discovered Elizabeth Lane - she is a western romance author and is very good. I have just read The Borrowed Bride, The Substitute Bride and The Horseman's Bride and I highly recommend these books particularly Books 1 & 3.

Yes, I have read everything by Rae Muir, Joan Johnston, and Elizabeth Lane. I have read Caroline F. and didn't really care for her.

I've been seeing lots of talk about a book called Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O'Connell. I think it's a historical western.

I haven't read it myself so I can't tell you anything about it but it seems to be generating some good comments around the place,

Joan

A three-book series that covers a fascinating family from the trail drive days to modern-day Texas includes, in order, "The Kingdom," "The Power," and "The Glory," written by Ronald S. Joseph.
