   I just got it today and finished it by night!! WOW was it good! Such a powerfull story! Couldn't put it down!

Can't wait to read more books from you! You truly are gifted, Catherine

Well assuming people have read the book if not look away now. I have to admit i was very disappointed in David and the way he treated hazel. He should have told her the engagement was off straight away, not leave her hanging there just in case. Been in that position myself before although nothing like that i know how humiliating things like this can be and how when people are constantly laughing and talking about you when you have a broken heart it destroys your life and you do not think straight and all you think of is revenge.

I am sure Hazel will be embaressed when she finally moves on but i can see her side and how you see red. Having scottish irish and welsh blood i react without thinking and i am sure i would exact revenge. I am surprised he was so venomous about her reaction enough to say he would sack her when he caused the lady harm in the first place. He was weak and a fool not speaking to her and being honest instead of leaving her dangling. The book was good but i have to say i was disappointed with his action. I know alot of people would disagree with me but been there done that. I would never knowingly afflict hurt on a child though.... i bet alot of you dsagree with me. Otherwise good read. I have read reviews of others they all seem to hate hazel so i though i would put a word in for her.

   I do feel differently, Michelle, but I don't have the same perspective that you do.

As I understood it, David and Hazel were never officially engaged. It was an awkward situation where everyone expected it was going to happen, but David had not actually proposed to Hazel before he met Brianna. I'm not sure of that though without going back and rereading the beginning of the book.

I dont think they officially were. He said would officially do it when come back from business trip(i would have thought that was as good as engaged and told all my friends). I just thought was sad leaving her hanging on.And then her having to find out from other people with him hiding away. Not very manly of him. people i have spoken to about the book on facebook said some things and i thought i would look at it from her point of view as i have been there.

I finished Lucky Penny in the early hours of this morning and had to drop in here to congratulate Catherine - I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

My feelings towards Hazel Wright were she got off too easily for her despicable behavior at the social. Call me nasty but I wanted her to pay for what she did...sure she lost her job but she still got a reference! Yes she was hurt and yes David could have handled it better but he did what he felt was right plus he hadn't asked for her hand in marriage.

Michelle, I thought David did try to speak to Hazel - wasn't that when she turned nasty and not only hit him with her broom but also poor Sam. Cruelty towards innocent animals not a nice person if you ask me.

I to read LP recently and really enjoyed it... It's now one of my fav's...

I hated the part where Hazel hit poor Sam... What did he do he was innocent... Felt like hitting her with my bromb...lol

Hazel got off very lightly... Briannah was too nice...

My opinion is he was still in the wrong he should have gone to tell her. She found out the truth elsewhere not nice. I would have been angry too although not towards the dog that was below the belt. I understand how she felt.That IS my personal opinion.He tried to speak to her AFTER everyone knew.
