I don't watch soapies that much these days because everyone knows you can miss it for months and catch up in one episode. I only watch when something funny happens or when there's plenty of drama and I can't miss Brooke getting pushed into a pool or something so I can laugh at her.. hehe...

But as a kid I watched and remember Sally and its just so sad to hear that this beautiful woman is gone. What a shock and great loss of talent. B&B just won't be the same without her...

My favorite of Sally's escapades would be when she and Stephanie got drunk and she got to cut Stephanie's hair. Man, I was so glad I didn't miss that episode! Hehehe..

She'll be missed on that soapie for sure...

How long had she been in the show?

I remember seeing her and she always seemed to be out to get one of the other characters - the one who was in Days of Our Lives a long time ago (I used to watch Days when the kids were little and having their afternoon naps).

This show is on here just before the late afternoon news. Every time I switch on the telly for the news I seem to catch the tail end of it. And it seems as though at least once a week I see the same blonde chick getting married and each time it's a different groom. What's the deal with that? hehe

I'm not a Bold and Beautiful fan--only came across the news of her death when I was looking for plot info on Guiding Light--but will miss her nonetheless

I don't normally watch soaps, but I have been keeping up with the Bold and the Beautiful since I was about 14. You see, it came on at 12:30, right after the noon news, and my dad would come in from farming about noon every day to eat, watch the news, and relax a bit. It became a habit to watch the B&B every day after the noon news. I don't regularly keep up with these days, but every now and then if I'm home during the day, I still turn it on to see if I've missed anything in the past six months.

Joan, as for the blonde chic, that's Brooke. Not that you care, but here's part of the scoop on her and her men:

Ridge - the love of her life whom she has married more times than I can remember and has a child with him.
Eric - (Ridge's father) married him long enough to have two children with.
Thorn - (Ridge's brother) married him at some point when Ridge was married to his soul-mate, Taylor.
Deacon - (her daughter's husband) never married him, but slept with him and had a child with him.
Nick - (Ridge's half-brother) married him and thought she had his child, but it turned out to be Ridge's child.
Some other guy - (not related) and so long ago, I can't remember his story.

And I actually watched that stuff??? At least I can say it's the only soap I ever really got involved in.

As for Sally Spectra, I'm sure she will be greatly missed on the show.

The last wedding I saw (a few weeks ago) was when she married a blonde fella in uniform but in a matter of days she seemed to be with the dark haired chap and then back with the new hubby

The soaps I used to watch before I went into the working world (this was also before VCR'S, DVR'S & TiVO) were 'Days of our Lives' which was on at 1pm; 'As the World Turns' which was on a 2; & finally 'General Hospital' at 3.

Now they've so screwed up the shows times & casts, that I hardly know who's who anymore. The replacements for past cast members just don't jive with who I remember originally playing the part, etc.

It used to be there was a time where you could go weeks without watching and then come back to it and it was as if you never left, you could pick up right where you left off

Anyway, for those of you who do watch the soaps, I wonder, have you heard that 'Passions' has been cancelled????

Mary, you forgot to mention that Nick is also Bridget's second husband and we are about one and a half years behind the USA so at this time Brooke is in love with her daughter's hubby.. AGAIN.. and Bridget is pregnant with Nicks baby. But to prevent Bridget from leaving Nick because of this (Nick loves Brooke too) Brooke went and got married to Eric... AGAIN.. but is not ready to sleep with him as she is still thinking about Nick.

Whew... Brooke is a busy woman! I heard a joke once that reminded me of her. Something about stapling your legs together... Hehehehe...

And that's the Bold and Beautiful... Amazing what imaginations writers have!

I swear i got totally lost one afternoon i saw Ridge fall into a fire and thought that was the end of him. But NO!!! Sometime later i see him as right as rain without one scar. Guess it can only happen in a soap opera.....

Kathy, you're right about it only happening in the soaps. Ridge was pulled from the fire from a "back door". Did you know that his wife Taylor was brought back from the dead, not once, but TWICE, in the years I have been watching it. Seems like they had a funeral for a sister also and she wasn't dead either. Come to think of it, Sally's daughter, Macy was "killed" in a car accident and came back to life.

Goodness, I'm thankful I live in my own little world. If all of that happened in real life, we would really "be in a pickle". (The pickle part was just in a book I read).

Mary, after Macy came back she launched her signing career again and fell in love with Deacon but then died again when something on stage fell on her. Hehehehehe... She hasn't popped back yet but you never know

Rob, didn't know about Passion's getting cancelled but it'll not be a great loss...

Did anyone ever watch Loving? I was a kid when it aired here. I only remember Eva but didn't it end with a Serial Killer nicking everyone off?
