Most of my favourite authors write contemporaries. Always on my list are: Susan Elizabeth Phillips Susan Mallery Elizabeth Lowell Karen Robards Linda Howard Jayne Ann Krentz Sherryl Woods Over this last year I've added Susan Crandall, Susan Wiggs and Brenda Novak to the favourites list. I don't read a lot of historicals but I still usually read the new releases from: Stephanie Laurens Amanda Quick I'll probably try and catch up on Loretta Chase's books too after reading Lord of Scoundrels. She might be on my list soon as well Joan Queensland, Australia |

>Dont be embarrassed Kristie we are all going to have long >listens i am surprised Rikda and Joan arent still here >posting lol. > >My new authors from 2007 are Anna Campbell (aussie) >Rabbit You're right Kathy. I could have gone on forever and of course I've remembered more now. Rachel Gibson is always on my favourite list so consider her added along with Carly Phillips, Christie Ridgway, Leslie Kelly, Christina Dodd, Carla Neggers etc., etc., etc. I also left off Dianne Blacklock and Monica McInerney And if Anna Campbell's next books are as good as her first two then she'll definitely be on the historical list. I've thought of some other historical authors who can probably be added as well Jacquie D'Alessandro, Kimberly Logan, Victoria Alexander, Anne Mallory, Shirley Karr (although it's been quite a while since I read her books). Jusr because I don't read a lot of historicals these days doesn't mean that I don't still have a few favourites, Joan Queensland, Australia |

LAST EDITED ON Jan-09-08 AT 00:50 AM (EST) First of all, Joan, I have to tell you about one of my new sales reps I met today. Her name is Stella and I couldn't help but think of you right away!!!!As for my absolute favorite authors, besides Catherine obviously... Samantha James Lisa Kleypas Gaelen Foley Carol Finch Julia Quinn Paula Quinn Julie Garwood (historicals only, never read her contemps) Mary Balogh Debra Mullins Eloisa James There are several authors who are probably going to be in my favorites once I read MORE than one book by them, including Suzanne Enoch, Victoria Alexander and Cathy Maxwell.
And I know there are some I'm forgetting, but I will say that I've never read a historical that I didn't at least like...most of them I absolutely LOVE!!!! LAST EDITED ON Jan-28-08 AT 08:06 PM (EST) (in no particular order) Catherine Anderson Bertrice Small Diana Palmer Jo Beverley Kathleen E. Woodiwiss Helen BrooksI read history as well. I was a history major so that's why I tend to like historical romances and tend to talk at length on history here. just ignore me if you like.. I realize history is difficult to handle for most people... I also like horror too... so that's what I've discovered about some history... it's way better than Stephen King, IMO.... I also like some fantasy... I've been experimenting these days... So, it spills into other genres. Anyway I've gotten off my soapbox... I apologize for my post from last night on Congress... that was out of hand. I know some people would perfer to have fun here. My problem is that I get carried away... um, Bertrice Small -I know most people dont like her at all... I'm just reading her for myself. I used to read her a long time ago... I used to be a vistor to her message board and um... well... I don't belong there.
