Hi Julie, This is such a hard question to answer because I have read so many wonderful books - I don't think I can name just one book. So if you don't mind I'm going to tell you some of my all time favourite books. Ransom by Julie Garwood - this is my comfort book. I turn to this book when I am feeling low or just want to read some of the best dialogue I have read in a book. Comanche Moon, Baby Love & Annie's Song - I have enjoyed every book I've read by CA but these three books hold a special place in my heart. The storyline, the characters and dialogue they are very special and incredibly well written. The Virgin River series by Robyn Carr - all seven books so far have been brilliant especially Shelter Mountain which was book two in this series. The characters are so believeable. I love the fact the readers can follow the lives of all the characters throughout the series. Paradise & A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught - I love everything about these books - the characters, the storyline. They are so well written - like CA I have loved all of JM books, some more than others. She is a very talented author. I have so many other book titles I could add to this list - I have read hundreds of books that I have thoroughly enjoyed but I guess the above books come to my mind immediately when asked this question.

Well this is a tough question. There are several authors that I love pretty much no matter what... CA, Luanne Rice, Julie Quinn, Judith McNaught, and Sherryl Woods to name a few. Specific books are much harder to list, except when they are NOT part of the above list of authors. Recently I enjoyed Nora Robert's "A Vision in White" and Joy Nash's "A Little Light Magic" I've also come to enjoy Mary Balogh, especially her Slightly series. Debbie Macomber is also good to read, although her books aren't as hot and heavy as some authors are. There are quite a few good authors out there. I know quite a few board members love Linda Lael Miller, and SEP. I have books by both authors in my 'to be read' pile but haven't picked up the books yet. If I had any advice to a romance newbie, it would be to go to your local library and find a bit of everything. Us girls are pretty good at recommending books that relate to each other once you know what you like. Happy Reading! |

Well, I have many for many reasons... Annies Song - Catherine Anderson - becasue this is a "disabled" character that becomes strong, and is protrayed as loving, helpful, and strong. A Rose in Winter - Kathleen Woodiwiss - Love this whole story line. Its complex when romance books weren't LaVyrle Spencer - The Gamble, Endearment, Years - I love this time periods in each of these books. I love the characters...flaws and all. I love the plots as weel. Strong Lorraine Heath - Leigh brother series - I love the relationship of the brothers, how their lives are intertwined, yet each want something different in life. Julie Garwood - Saving Grace - This character in this book changes so much. You watch her grow, and Ms. Garwoods humor also has you lol at times. Sons and Daughters series - various authors - Hard to find a complete set. This is a unique series where each child(well, adult child) get s a quest for their 21st birthday ( I think) and they must complete the quest if they want their present which is normally fabulous. example. The girls name is Venus...shes all about her looks and beauty...her quest, accompany a blind man to help him write his book. Its a challenge for her since she can not use her beauty to charm this man. Nora Roberts - Montana Sky. 3 sisters(who don't know each other, all different mothers), 1 father( he dies), 1 ranch, 1 condition...stay on the ranch one year to split it equally. Theres differnt story lines, murder, mystery, suspence. Love his. Maybe I'll just stop with that. Misty Colorado |

Hi Julie! I, too, can't answer that with just one book....I have a top 5 list that basically always stays the same, except sometimes #2 becomes #1 or #3 becomes #1, lol But I could live happily if these were the only books I could read for the rest of my life : Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas The Duke and I by Julia Quinn Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn When He Was Wicked by Julia Quinn Laird of the Mist by Paula Quinn And there are soooooooooooooo many more that would be tied for like #6 on my all-time favorite reads!!! LOL Christy "My real purpose was to see you, and to judge, if I could, whether I might ever hope to make you love me." ~Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen |

Hi, All: You know, I've read hundreds if not thousands over the years so it's kind of impossible to narrow it to one. I love all of Catherine's, with some of my favorites being Baby Love, Summer Breeze, Comanche Moon, Annie's Song, just to name a few. However, you all have hit on some of my all time favorites otherwise. For example: Perfect, Paradise, and all the Spencer novels, as well as a few of Krentz, most of Deveraux, and all books by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. The romantic suspense books by Sandra Brown are always a treat! Last year I ran across Barbara Taylor Bradford's A Woman of Substance and was immediately engrossed. It is one of my all time favorites, I think. I suppose it may not be considered a romance, but fiction novel. I also like books of Linda Lael Miller, Susan Wiggs, and HQN author Susan Mallery. I just know I'm leaving someone out....oh, I like some of Barbara Delinsky as well. See, if I keep typing long enough I'll come up with more authors I enjoy reading, because there's certainly more I've failed to mention. Stephanie Vogelsong Personal Assistant of Catherine Anderson

I'm a HUGE Lisa Kleypas fan and my favorite books are Where Dreams Begin and Blue-eyed Devil. Where dreams begin, because holly is a short, not perfectly thin woman(like myself)...and I love the relationship between Zach and her daughter. Blue-eyed devil, simply because its HOT! or should I say hardy Cates is(at least in my mind he is...heehee!!!) Much Love, Heidi |

I second books by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Paula Quinn, Lavrlye Spencer, Susan Wiggs, Susan Crandall..all wonderful writers. I have read alot of Karen Marie Moning this summer and have enjoyed them soooo much. I don't ever read time travel, but it's done in a different way than any others I've ever read. And once you get through her Highlander series, you start her Fever series, and you will be blown away. It's addicting. And for me, that makes it good writing. Katy Connecticut, USA |
